If you're not using video as a marketing tool then you're missing out on one of the most effective ways to communicate your message.
Keep your videos simple and preferably no longer than three minutes in length. This is not an opportunity for you to show how well you can use every feature of your video software. You want to communicate a message simply and clearly and you want your audience to take specific action at the end of it.
Follow the simple 7 step formula below no matter what your video is about and you will create effective messages every time. You don't have to use my exact words,in fact make sure that what you say comes very naturally to you.
Step 1: Introduce yourself and confirm what the video is about:
“Hello my name's –” (Plug your name in) “By having a look at this video I'm assuming you want to know–” (Plug in what your video is about.)
If for instance you were making a video about yourself you might finish the line with, “–a little more about me.” Try to make your video benefit-rich wherever you can. A better line would have been, “–a little more about me and how I can help you achieve your goals.” In other words what is the benefit to the person viewing the video?
Step 2: Give them an idea of what what they will be able to do afterwards:
“After this you will be able to–” If appropriate you could by example, end with, “–make a decision about what to do next.”
Step 3: Tell them what you're going to tell them:
“Over the next few minutes I'm going to give you some valuable information about–” (Plug in the content you are going to share with them.) One or two things is preferable and no more than three.
On the same topic of a video about yourself you might finish the line with, “–how I got to be where I am and what I can specifically offer you.”
Step 4: Now tell them what you said your were going to tell them:
This will be specific to what you want to cover. Expand on what you said above. Make sure you cover everything you said you would.
Step 5: Tell them what you want them to do next:
You might want them to opt into a form so you could say, “If this sounds like something you would like to know more about, please complete the form below.' Make sure you also tell them what will happen after they do that. For example, will they be taken to another site, video or will they get an email confirmation request?
Step 6: Recap what you have just told them:
” I have just told you–” (Plug in what you told them. Include what you said you would tell them as well as what you want them to do next)
Step 7: Conclude your message in some way:
Say something appropriate and which indicates in some way that the message is complete. This could be an indication that the next step is up to them or/and you might simply thank them for their time.
Use the above network marketing help formula and make as many videos as you can. The more you do the easier it becomes.
