Video Marketing For Beginners – How to Synergize the Power of Video With Affiliate Marketing

Video Marketing is a new form of marketing that is taking the World Wide Web by storm. The reason why it is so popular is because it's a fabulous medium to engage directly with the audience and adds a new dimension to many different forms of online marketing. Where Direct Response Marketers used to struggle to engage with an audience now they can hold the attention of prospects with a riveting clip; Affiliate Marketers can show prospects components of a product before they buy, garnering trust from them and increasing the probability of a commission.

Being an Affiliate Marketer myself, the potential that Video Marketing holds for me is exciting. I must confess, I haven't actually made a marketing video yet, but my marketing mindset has allowed me to see the possibilities that exist to expand your bottom line and increase customer rapport.

Breaking it back down to basics, Marketing is all about empathising with prospects. If you're able to connect with them on an emotional level, they will place their trust in you and you will be free to recommend and review products to them without the fear of losing them out of suspicion.

This has been difficult in the past; although the Internet does make things more convenient and is constantly “shrinking the world”, there is also heightened mistrust due to the increasing rate of fraud online. Even though there are real people who want to sell real products, spammers and hackers are creating a bad name for these honest folk. How can you connect with your audience if you're not there, right in front of them?

This perplexing paradox is somewhat solved with the power of Video Marketing. Where people once struggled to convey their messages across in text, now you can connect with people on a more personal level by talking to them through video. If you're outgoing, you might even turn the camera around and let people have a look at you to prove that you're a real person as well and not a very polished version of Microsoft Sam.

But safe to say that more often than not, having your voice will suffice. How does this differ from audio clips then, you might ask? Well, audio clips, such as those found at BYOAudio.com, can be embedded into your website, delivering a short snippet of your voice (or another sound clip). Although this does increase rapport with you and your audience, there is something far more personal and engaging about hearing your voice and having you show them something at the same time. There is a far greater ability to create links and patterns between what you're trying to get across to your audience and to them, it feels like you're standing there and talking with them.

Think about it. If you wanted to review a product, you could have a webcast (video) of your product and you talking about it in the background. The most important thing however, is that it allows you to be more human. Anyone can blab on and extol the virtues of a product, but if you slip in a joke or relate the product to an experience of your own, you suddenly have created a bond between you and your audience. And that, you can't get from an article like the one you're reading or an audio clip.

In conclusion, Video Marketing holds a lot of potential because it allows you to be human. You can create more rapport with your audience and at the moment, not a lot of marketers are using this vehicle to connect. If you practice and get yourself out there, you will be leagues ahead of your competition. I sure know that Video Marketing is a medium that I will use and eventually want to specialise in.
